No Mediation in Russia-Turkey Dispute

Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour on Saturday rejected media speculations that Iran has tried to mediate between Turkey and Russia. Relations between Russia and Turkey have deteriorated badly since Turkey shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border in November. Ankara claimed at the time that the aircraft had entered Turkish airspace, which claim has been rejected by Russia, Fars News Agency reported.
