Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Majid Ansari has advised political groups to avoid extremist policies, saying taking some an approach in some periods harmed both political groups and national interests. “An analysis of the country’s political groups, whether reformists or principlists, after the Islamic Revolution indicates that whenever these groups have taken extremist and hardline approaches, it has first harmed themselves and has also been harmful to the country,” Ansari said in an interview with the Fars news agency published on Monday. He said fortunately bitter experiences have helped moderate figures from both reformist and principlist groups dominate the political arena, although there is still a trace of extremism in the climate.
