EU Denies Sanctions Report

The European Union denied on Thursday media reports that France has asked the EU to consider new sanctions against Iran over its recent missile tests. "Such a request was never submitted to the EU. It was also not discussed in the past meeting of EU Foreign Affairs Council," EU spokesperson for foreign affairs, Catherine Ray, told a news conference in Brussels. Ray noted that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini had briefed EU foreign ministers during their meeting on Jan. 18 on the implementation of Iran's nuclear deal, Kuwait News Agency reported.
