A senior advisor to the Leader says Iran will emerge winner in the negotiations with the major powers on the dispute over its nuclear program. “We are confident that in the end, even if negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) last for a long time, the Islamic Republic of Iran will be the winner,” Press TV quoted Ali Akbar Velayati as saying on Saturday. Iran favors negotiations and is “seriously” pursuing its talks with the six major powers, he said, adding that Tehran will never be the one to pull out of the talks. Velayati, director of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research, reiterated Iran’s stance that it plans to benefit from “peaceful nuclear energy within the framework of international regulations and supervision.”
