Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani hailed the announcement that the nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers has taken effect and expressed optimism about the country’s economic prosperity in the new atmosphere after the removal of sanctions.“Today is an auspicious day … the nuclear issue yielded results and sanctions were lifted,” Larijani said in an open session of parliament on Sunday, referring to the announcement of the Implementation Day of the July 14 nuclear agreement between Tehran and P5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany). The speaker hoped that a new atmosphere would be created for the country’s economic growth and attraction of foreign investment following the termination of sanctions, Tasnim News Agency reported. Larijani praised the Iranian nation’s resistance, saying that the last step taken with the removal of embargoes proved the significance of the resistance. The remarks came after Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and European Union foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, late on Saturday announced in a joint statement that the implementation of the nuclear deal has officially started.
