A joint statement will be released by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, later this week to announce the beginning of implementing the landmark nuclear agreement between Iran and major powers, a senior nuclear negotiator said.

The deal was finalized with P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany) on July 14 to give Tehran relief from international sanctions in return for temporary constraints on its nuclear program.

The release of the joint statement hinges on a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency confirming that all the constraints are in place. "The agency is working to verify Iran's commitments and will publish its report on Friday," ISNA quoted Abbas Araqchi as saying on Wednesday. "Either Saturday or Sunday will most likely be the Implementation Day."

Foreign ministers of P5+1 may come together to formally announce the major milestone, the head of Foreign Ministry's office for enforcing the accord added.
