Opposition to WMDs Underscored

In a meeting with North Korean Ambassador Kang Sam-hyon, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hossein Jaber Ansari stressed Iran's "principled policy" that producing, stockpiling and using weapons of mass destruction must be banned, according to a press release issued on Wednesday. The spokesperson underlined the need for world powers to meet their commitments regarding the eradication of nuclear weapons, IRNA reported. In addition, Ansari said the Islamic Republic is opposed to "foreign intervention" in regional disputes and the use of military threats to destabilize "independent countries."
