Israel Main Cause of Regional Instability

Israel’s expansionist policies and blind terrorism are the main factors behind the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday.  “The Zionist regime’s blind assassination of those struggling for the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and Syria as well as its expansionist policies of building settlements and creating crisis in the region are the main causes of regional instability,” he said. Amir-Abdollahian made the statements in a phone conversation with the United Nations Special Coordinator of the Secretary-General for Lebanon Sigrid Kaag, Tasnim News Agency reported. “Tehran supports the stability and security of Lebanon and the region,” Amir-Abdollahian said. Kaag urged Iran to use its influence to help establish stability and security in Lebanon and the region, given the current sensitive situation in the Middle East. The UN official said she would visit Tehran soon to complete her consultations regarding regional security, particularly that of Lebanon.
