The process of vetting nominees for the upcoming parliamentary election by the Guardians Council will begin in the coming days, the spokesman of the Election Central Monitoring Committee announced on Sunday.

Nominees whose qualification is not approved can appeal and seek further investigation.

He said 20 Iranians belonging to religious minorities have signed up and that 73% of the applicants are under the age of 50.
