Arab League Claims Dismissed

The Foreign Ministry dismissed unfounded claims by the Arab League about Iran’s interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries.

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Saturday, Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hossein Jaber Ansari, said Iran has cordial relations with most Arab countries based on “mutual respect” and “common interests”, Press TV reported. The Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers claimed in its recent meeting that Iran poses a “grave threat” to regional peace and security. The spokesman denounced the Arab League’s statement on Iran, saying it was “spiteful, unconstructive and incorrect”. Ansari noted that Iran plays an “active, responsible and stabilizing” role in regional developments and will continue with its constructive role to stem crises and tensions through interactions with neighbors and the international community. “Unfortunately, some countries, which have been under fire as main suspects in supporting extremism and terrorism, are trying to blame others and proceed with the policy of depicting Iran as a threat,” he said.
