President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the leader of Catholic world, Pope Francis, and world leaders on the birth anniversary of Prophet Jesus (PBUH) and the upcoming New Year.
In separate messages to world leaders on Thursday, Rouhani said, “On the eve of the New Year, I hope for all of us to see the establishment of peace and security, eradication of discrimination and terrorism around the world with joint efforts and cooperation among nations,” according to President.ir.
The president wished the heads of state and their people a blessed year full of happiness and prayed to Almighty God for wellbeing and prosperity of the world’s people.
In his message to the Pope, Rouhani said, “Returning to the teachings of divine religions can be considered a big step on the path to excellence and perfection of mankind and reveal the true face of those who are trying to depict a violent and false picture of the teachings of great prophets by resorting to terrorist and criminal acts.”
