A prominent principlist figure said on Wednesday principlists have reached a conclusion that they should present a “single list of candidates” for the Feb. 26, 2016, parliamentary elections. Ali Akbar Velayati, who is a senior foreign policy advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, also said, “Anyone who stands as a candidate should care about national interests and be ready to back efforts in the Majlis to pass laws that can help forge a bright future for the country.”
