Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has underscored the necessity of forging a strong and serious resolve to fight terrorist groups.

In a meeting with Chairman of Slovenian Parliament’s Foreign Policy Commission Jozef Horvat in Ljubljana on Saturday, Takht-Ravanchi said, “Today terrorism, extremism and conflicts are threatening all parts of the world. Hence, it is a global problem and all countries should launch collective efforts against this crisis, which needs a serious determination to eradicate violence and extremism.”  The senior diplomat underlined that the negative impacts of the presence of terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq have spread to other parts of the world, including the terrorist attacks and the refugee crisis in European countries, Fars News Agency reported. Takht-Ravanchi stressed the need for cooperation and consultations between Iranian and Slovenian lawmakers over the ongoing fight against terrorism and extremism. “The Iranian Parliament is ready to cooperate with the Slovenian Parliament in the campaign against drug trafficking and restoration of international security,” he said.
