MPs to Tour Nuclear Facilities

A group of legislators is scheduled to visit two nuclear facilities next week, a lawmaker said on Sunday.
Ebrahim Aqamohammadi, a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, also told Tasnim News Agency that commission members are set to visit the Fordo nuclear facility and Arak heavy-water reactor.
The lawmaker noted that the visits will take place in line with efforts to supervise the proper implementation of the July nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Aqamohammadi said a report on the visits will be later submitted to the presiding board of the commission, adding that part of the document may be read out during an open session of the parliament.
On Nov. 13, the spokesman for the commission announced that a committee would be established in parliament to supervise the implementation of JCPOA.
Nozar Shafiei said according to the law, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has a duty to monitor the implementation of the deal and submit a report on the issue every six months.
