Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari voiced the force’s preparedness to expand collaboration with other countries to help secure peace and stability in international waters.

In a meeting with military attachés of foreign countries in Tehran on Sunday, Sayyari pointed to extraterritorial marine operations as one of the most important factors in global friendship, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Therefore, Sayyari added, Iran is trying to boost its diplomatic marine ties with other countries.

“The navy is ready to maintain close cooperation with the navies of friendly countries and expand it to provide peace, stability and security in remote international waters,” he said.

Sayyari said Iran is prepared to cooperate with friendly countries in such fields as exchange of trainers and students, manufacture of marine equipment, organization of international conferences at different levels, exchange of marine information focused on fighting piracy, trafficking, dangerous materials and water pollution, as well as other marine issues.
