The Iranian minister of industry, mine, and trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh has called for a bilateral comprehensive trade agreement to be signed between Iran and Iraq as soon as possible. In his meeting with the Iraqi trade minister, Abdul Kareem Kasenzani, Nematzadeh asserted that a trade deal could boost economic transactions between the two neighbors and also enhance the capabilities of private sectors on both sides of the border. Nematzadeh referred to industries, mining and banking as the possible avenues for expansion of bilateral ties. The Iraqi official, for his part, hoped that Tehran and Baghdad will finalize a trade agreement soon.
