Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has said Iran and the United States can cooperate to deal with the Islamic State (IS) if Washington demonstrates sincerity and avoids practicing deception.
“If the United States shows sincerity, we can cooperate. But if they want to use deception, it will not be possible,” the chairman of the Expediency Council told Danish reporters in Tehran on Monday when asked whether Iran will engage in the efforts by Western countries, including the United States, to mobilize the countries in the region to join their campaign against the IS.
