A senior cleric reaffirmed Iran’s backing for the territorial integrity of Syria, stressing that all terrorist groups should be flushed out of the Arab country so that the Syrian people can decide their own fate in peace and without any foreign interference.
“Iran remains steadfast in its stance on Syria, which is preservation of the Arab country’s territorial integrity and the continued, effective fight against terrorist groups, including the so-called Islamic State and the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front, until all of them are wiped out of Syria and of the region,” Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said in his Friday prayers’ sermons in Tehran, Tasnim News Agency reported.
