Oman Ready for Mediation

Oman is ready to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia if a formal request is made, Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi said in Berlin on Friday after a meeting with German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Asked by IRNA at a press briefing whether Oman would be willing to embark on such a mediation, Oman's top diplomat reiterated that his government would be ready for "good offices". Alawi made it clear that stable ties between Tehran and Riyadh were "very important" to the Omani government.
