Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Beirut on Wednesday to hold talks with high-ranking Lebanese officials on regional issues and bilateral ties.
Upon his arrival at Beirut International Airport, Amir-Abdollahian was welcomed by Iran’s charge d’affaires in Beirut, Mohammad Sadeq Fazli, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Later in the day, Amir-Abdollahian met Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to confer on the latest regional developments, including the ongoing crisis in Syria.
Tehran-Beirut mutual relations will also be on the agenda of his talks with Lebanese officials.
The deputy minister met Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian president’s special representative for Middle East affairs, in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss the latest developments in Syria, ahead of the Nov. 14 international talks on the protracted conflict plaguing the Arab country.
