Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi underscored the importance of relations with Latin America and called for measures to prepare the ground for expanding mutual ties.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is interested and determined to develop cooperation with Latin American states, especially in areas such as economy and investment,” Takht-Ravanchi said in an address to a meeting between Iranian envoys and their Latin American counterparts in Tehran on Monday, Fars News Agency reported.
Referring to changes in international relations and economic capacities in the Latin American region, Takht-Ravanchi said, “In such an atmosphere, important opportunities have been created for cooperation and the path of cooperation should be paved for boosting relations.”
