Search for Missing Pilgrims Underway

A senior Foreign Ministry official underlined the ministry’s continuing efforts to pursue the fate of pilgrims who went missing in the Sept. 24 crush tragedy during the hajj rituals near Mecca, saying Saudi officials are waiting for the results of DNA tests.
Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian reaffirmed Tehran’s resolve to determine the fate of Iranian pilgrims still missing after the deadly incident, Tasnim News Agency reported.
“We are pursuing the fate of all missing nationals through different channels,” he said on Saturday, adding that to that end, President of Iran’s Red Crescent Society Amir Hossein Ziaei had a meeting with the Saudi health minister.
