A senior cleric called for the implementation of the policy of “Resistance Economy” as outlined by the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Leader has repeatedly stressed and defined the outlines of “Resistance Economy,” Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani said in his sermon at the Friday prayers in Tehran, Press TV reported.
“Therefore, the country must be independent when it comes to living conditions and must be self-reliant in … production and economy,” he said. On Feb. 25, Ayatollah Khamenei called on the three branches of government to seriously pursue and implement the general policies of the Resistance Economy.
As part of the program, the government must take action to promote knowledge-based economy and domestic production to reduce dependence on oil revenues and imports.
