Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham felicitated neighboring Azerbaijan on "successfully" holding the recent parliamentary elections. In a message on Thursday, Afkham hoped that during the term of the new parliament, wide-ranging cooperation between Tehran and Baku would increase, Tasnim News Agency reported. Loyalists of Azeri President Ilham Aliyev swept to victory in the Nov. 1 vote.
