Iran congratulated the Turkish government and nation on the recent successful parliamentary elections with the large participation of people.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham hoped on Monday that the establishment of a new government in Turkey would improve mutual relations in all fields, Press TV reported.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party won the parliamentary elections on Sunday and regained the majority it had lost in the June election.
There are hopes that the election would put an end to months of tension in Turkey, which assumed more urgency after two deadly bomb blasts claimed by the so-called Islamic State militant group hit the city of Suruc and the capital Ankara over the past few months.
