A two-day international conference with the theme of “World Against Violence and Extremism” will open at the University of Tehran on Tuesday. The executive secretary of the conference, Ehsan Mohammadi, said on Sunday that students, professors, intellectuals, and researchers from foreign countries, including Turkey, the United States, and Canada, will attend the conference, ISNA reported. Vice President for Legal Affairs Elham Aminzadeh will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, Mohammadi said. A UN resolution was adopted last year based President Hassan Rouhani’s World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) proposal. The foreign ministry will also host an international conference on WAVE on December 9 and 10.
