On the project to modernize the Arak heavy water reactor under the July nuclear accord, Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Friday that only the core of the reactor will undergo modification. "No change will be made to the containment structure and only one-third of the reactor core will be blocked … And its fuel will change from raw uranium to enriched material at a lower amount," Boroujerdi was quoted as saying by ICANA.
