Deputy Parliament Speaker Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabifard highlighted Tehran’s “key role” in the campaign against terrorism and said efforts to reach the “right decision” to resolve the Syrian crisis without Iran’s involvement will be futile.
“[World powers] are aware that without the Islamic Republic, they cannot reach the right and sensible decision, and are not able to implement any decision,” the senior lawmaker said in an interview with ICANA in reference to the participation of Iranian representatives in the Vienna talks on the Syria crisis on Friday.
“International politicians and pundits admit that the Islamic Republic has a major part to play in promoting stability and security in the region.”
Aboutorabifard said Iran’s measures to counter operations by terrorists have helped change attitudes toward the Islamic Republic’s regional role.
