New Radar Displayed

A domestically developed 3D search and control radar system, named the Qamar, with the capability of tracking over 100 targets within a 450-kilometer radius, was put on display. Defense Minister Lieutenant General Hossein Dehqan attended the ceremony in Shiraz on Monday to showcase defense products of the Iran Electronics Industries, including the new radar.  “The most important achievement” of the IEI “is the manufacture of various radars that are capable of detecting and tracking threats,” Dehqan said, according to Fars News Agency. Qamar can track multiple ground and air targets, including fighter jets and drones, over an expansive range and transfer the obtained data to the air defense network.
