Armed Forces Hold Drills

Ground troops, air defense units and fighter jets of the Armed Forces started a two-day exercise in western and northwestern parts of the country on Sunday. After reviewing rapid-response units participating in the operations, Army Commander Lieutenant General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan told reporters, "One of the most important purposes of the war games is to improve armed forces' capability to counter threats posed by proxy wars."
