Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Samir Moqbel arrived in Tehran on Saturday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Hossein Dehqan, the Mehr news agency reported. The two officials are scheduled to discuss the ways to expand defense cooperation, the latest regional and international developments, and other issues of mutual interest as well as the military aid offered by Tehran. Moqbel is planned to meet with the president, the parliament speaker, and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). In a visit to Beirut on September 30, the SNSC secretary, Ali Shamkhani, had informed of Iran’s intention to give a military grant to the Lebanese army.
