People and officials marched in a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday to commemorate Lieutenant General Hossein Hamadani, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, who was killed in Syria on Thursday by the so-called Islamic State militant group near the Syrian city of Aleppo as he was advising government forces, IRNA reported. Senior military officials, including IRGC chief Mohammad Ali Jafari, Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan and IRGC Qods Force Commander Qassem Soleimani attended the ceremony.
