Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told ISNA on Sunday Tehran supports Russia's "anti-terror measures" in Syria and its assistance to the Syrian army. Russia started an air campaign against positions of militants in the war-ravaged Arab country last Wednesday. The senior diplomat said, "Tehran and Moscow have always backed the Syrian government and people in their campaign against terrorism."
