FM Meets Iraq Counterpart

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari in New York on Sunday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss the latest regional developments, IRNA reported.
The top Iraqi diplomat said Iran can have a “major share” in efforts to resolve the Syria conflict and other regional crises, urging Tehran to play a greater role to help overcome regional challenges.
Jaafari expressed condolences over the Hajj crush disaster and said “effective” measures need to be adopted to prevent such incidents.
He invited Zarif to visit Iraq for more consultations on the region and bilateral relations.
