There is no need for a second visit to the Parchin military facility, International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano said.

Amano visited Tehran on Sept. 20 to help advance the implementation of the July 14 roadmap between Iran and the IAEA for the clarification of all past and present outstanding issues regarding Tehran’s nuclear activities.

The UN nuclear agency’s final assessment, scheduled to be completed by Dec. 15, is crucial to the implementation of the larger nuclear deal between Iran and major powers.

Prior to Amano’s visit to Parchin during his Tehran trip, Iranian experts had collected and sent to Vienna the samples of soil and air at the site, where the IAEA claims research relevant for any effort to develop nuclear weapons may have taken place.

Iran denies the charge and says its nuclear program is totally for peaceful purposes.

“I don’t think so. We have already some samples,” Amano told RIA Novosti Saturday, commenting on the necessity of a second visit to Parchin.

He added that the recent visit was useful and now the agency “can move forward.”
