Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says the Takfiri ideology has tarnished the reputation of Islam. A Takfiri is a Muslim who accuses followers of other faiths and some Islamic sects of being unbelievers. “Terrorism and the Takfiri current have dominated the world public opinion and have tarnished the image of Islam, and [Takfiris] are committing countless crimes under the banner of Islam,” Larijani lamented in an address to Parliament on Monday, Press TV reported. He said the “Takfiri current” is one of the key problems facing Muslims, stressing that the scourge has turned into a big headache for the Islamic world.
