The new ambassador to Berlin, Ali Majedi, submitted his credentials to German President Joachim Gauck in a meeting on Tuesday. The German president said Berlin is keen to expand its relations with Tehran, expressing hope the ground would be prepared for increased cooperation between the two countries through the resolution of the dispute over Tehran's nuclear program. Majedi also asked Germany to play a more active role in nuclear talks between Iran and the major powers.
