In a message to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon on Sunday, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the government and people of the Central Asian country on the occasion of Tajikistan's Independence Day, which is annually celebrated on September 9, IRNA reported. Pointing to the "long-standing historical and cultural bonds" between the two countries, Rouhani expressed hope that bilateral relations would improve in view of top-level Iranian and Tajik officials' resolve to help promote ties.
