The ambassador to Lebanon says Iran's military grant to the Lebanese army will consist of arms and ammunition.

Mohammad Fathali made the remarks in a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil in Beirut on Tuesday.

"The military aid has three features, namely, it is unconditional, it will be provided without any mediating country, and more importantly, it is comprised of arms and ammunition required by the Lebanese army," the Mehr news agency quoted him as saying.

Bassil also said in the meeting, "The (Lebanese) ministry of foreign affairs has referred the case to the administration to follow up the related executive procedures."

In his recent visit to Lebanon, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani announced Iran intended to give a military grant to the Lebanese army after the visit of Lebanese Defense Minister Samir Moqbel to Tehran which is scheduled to take place on October 17.
