The Energy Resources Development Organization of the Defense Ministry launched the country’s first lithium battery manufacturing plant in a ceremony held in Tehran on Tuesday attended by Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan. Dehqan said one of the “strategic objectives” of the defense ministry is to develop new energy resources to meet diverse needs of the armed forces, the Mehr news agency reported. He said lithium batteries can be used in defense equipment, such as electronic and telecommunications devices.
