An advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said on Thursday Tehran does not hope the US will act in “good faith” regarding the implementation of the recent nuclear deal with major powers, ISNA reported.

Ali Akbar Velayati made the remark in response to US Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent letter to Congress, in which he outlined steps the US administration is willing to take after the accord to bolster security for Middle East countries in the face of Iran’s alleged destabilizing role.

“In view of the negative record of the Americans throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution, Kerry’s remarks against Iran were not surprising. The Islamic Republic has never had an optimistic view of US officials,” Velayati noted.
