Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan says the Islamic Republic does not want any war in the region, stressing that Iran's military prowess poses no threat to the security of the region and is only meant for defense. He made the remarks in an interview with the Al Mayadeen satellite television channel, Fars News Agency reported on Wednesday. The defense chief said Tehran will continue backing the Syrian people and government and "resistance movements" in the region.
