Tehran welcomes talks with Riyadh with a view to help restore regional peace and wellbeing, stressing the need for a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs said.
“The Saudi’s insistence on their negative game is to the detriment of the Arab kingdom and poses a serious threat to security and development of the region,” he said, partly referring to the Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian also said the landmark nuclear agreement reached last month between Iran and major powers is “in the interest of all regional states.”
He noted that Saudi Arabia can also be a beneficiary of the deal if it seeks to play a “constructive role”, ISNA reported on Tuesday.
