Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham sent a message to Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday congratulating Tehran on its recent nuclear deal with major powers.
He described the accord between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) as a “historic achievement”.
“The gain promises a new era for Iran, the region and the axis of resistance (against Israel).”
He said the settlement represents a victory for “Iran’s diplomacy and strategy to stick to the Iranian people’s right to access peaceful nuclear energy.”
The top Syrian lawmaker added that Iran managed to withstand the West’s pressure campaign and stand up to hostile actions of “colonialist” governments and their regional allies.
