Taking on Deal Critics

A senior nuclear negotiator pushed back against opponents of the recent nuclear deal with major powers, stressing that some criticisms are not out of genuine concern.
“I think the case of a small group [of critics] has gone beyond criticism and turned into intransigence and our explanations are not effective no matter how much we try,” Fars New Agency quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi as saying on Sunday.
He said some opponents put “factional” interests before national interest.
He added that “some questions are really regrettable, and are raised even on state radio and television and by self-proclaimed informed people and strategists.”
