Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja has expressed hope that the success of nuclear talks between Iran and the major powers would create a “new atmosphere” in the relationship between Iran and Europe to pave the way for expansion of Tehran-Helsinki ties.

The Finnish official made the remarks in a recent meeting with the outgoing ambassador to Finland, Rassoul Mousavi, ISNA reported on Saturday.

Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) are engaged in talks on a final nuclear deal to resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Tuomioja also pointed to his recent visit to Iran and said he has good memories of his stay in the historical city of Shiraz.
