President Hassan Rouhani sent a message to Raimonds Vejonis on Sunday congratulating him on his recent election as president of Latvia, IRNA reported. Rouhani pointed to the two countries' common interests and the "mutual respect and understanding" between them and called for expansion of relations between Tehran and Riga in all areas. He also wished success and wellbeing for the Latvian president and people.
