Tehran says unity among different Lebanese groups will help the country stand up to Israeli threats. “The Islamic Republic believes that only unity and national solidarity among various Lebanese groups will guarantee Lebanon’s stability, security and peace and protect the country against threats by the fake Israeli regime and terrorist groups,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, Press TV reported on Saturday. It congratulated the Lebanese government, people and Hezbollah on the resistance movement’s victory in the 2006 Israeli war on Lebanon which was achieved due to unity and convergence among the Lebanese. “The significance of resistance against the Zionist enemy is undeniable.” The statement described as “constructive and positive” a recent visit by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Beirut and his talks with Lebanese officials.
