Senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said nuclear achievements belong to the people, stressing that no particular group can claim full credit for the gains. “It was the backing of the great Iranian nation, the blood of the martyred nuclear scientists and the support of the Leader that helped secure victory after 12 years of struggling in the battlefield of negotiations (with major powers which culminated in a landmark nuclear deal last month),” the deputy foreign minister said in a meeting with students in Tehran on Saturday, IRNA reported. “Looking at the outcome of the talks from every angle indicates that the Iranian people have been a winner because the Americans sought zero (uranium enrichment in Iran) and tried to secure closure of the Fordo site and the Arak heavy water reactor (but failed to achieve the objectives).”
