In a meeting of the UN General Assembly on Thursday, the ambassador to the UN highlighted Iran’s efforts to achieve the goals set by the program of action of the International Conference on Population and Development, saying Iran has managed to significantly reduce infant and child mortality rates and improve the quality of health care despite “inhumane” and “illegal” sanctions against the country. Hossein Dehqani urged the international community to take action to prevent continuation of “cruel” measures against the Iranian nation.
